The Mitten, Retelling, and Ordinals

I had some tired kiddos today!  I think they were more tired today then last Monday after being on break for 2 weeks!  I had 2 fall asleep while during science today!  We had a very busy, but fun day!  I mean we are in school from 8:35-4:00 and I still find myself desperately trying to fit more into our schedule!  I think I am just an over planner!  We use Treasures for Language Arts and we are on our Animal Unit, which is perfect because we started my Mitten Activity Pack today too!!  We had so much fun doing activities to retell the story!  Check out some of the fun things we did today!
For our first activity, we made our own mitten to retell the story using the animals!

Then we used character cards to put the parts of the story in order!

Finally, we used ordinal numbers and put the animals in order!

The fun continues tomorrow! :)

  1. I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE the ordinal numbers activity. We read this book the first 2 days back from break and we have being do themed activities here and there in our stations. The kiddos really enjoy it, especially the girls (I have 11 girls out of 17 total.)

    Thank you for sharing!
